Lonely, I sit at my desk on a lazy afternoon.
And once again I find myself thinking of you.
I feel the joy of my siblings,
having fun with their companions.
As I take my spot by the window the clouds create an image of color and beauty.
When was it last?
That we sat together on this same lazy day,
to talk of lofty topics and that of which we knew.

The sun begins to set and I try to put my pen down.
When was it last you saw my work?
When was it last I saw yours?
I reflect,
too long for me to remember,
last I wrote I found it wrong.
Maybe now I can concentrate.

Deep thought gives no concern to time,
so it seems that time ceases as you think.
In thought of the past, I find old feelings gone.
Replaced by by what feels like apathy,
maybe this is to be my inspiration.
Or maybe its because your not with me.

So close to losing you forever it seemed,
only to be given a second life.
I try to cherish our time together,
I don't want to forget a thing.
The future is uncertain,
and to lose a memory that can't be replaced would be an unforgettable tragedy.

As I remember you, I can't help but feel lonely,
but maybe writing will help.
At least until I next see you
